Californian Poppy and Leaf Necklace

After leaving college all those years ago I was able to share a pitch at Spitalfields Sunday market with a Danish friend who sold mid century modern ceramics and glass and a wonderful potter called Rigmor Als.  My friend Inger wore a long chain necklace with a small pair of Edwardian spectacles on the endwhich was much admired. I wanted to recreate that rounded shape so created a design of a big Californian poppy which has flattened when caught in a gust of wind. The leaf, a flexible design in itself, complements and frames the poppy and I use a 34 inch squished link chain.
Long 34 inch hand wrought silver chain and handmade silver catch with a lovely 7cm poppy and leaf weighs 25 grams
